Gyorko Gets Promoted To Class AA

After tearing up the California Leagues, it seemed like former Mountaineer shortstop Jedd Gyorko was due for a promotion and it happened on the Fourth of July. The star hitter was promoted to Class AA San Antonio in the San Diego Padres Minor League Organization.

Gyorko was third in the California League in batting averaging hitting .365 and had 18 home runs and 74 RBIs. Gyorko spent the entire season on the Lake Elsinore Storm and was named the MVP of the California League All-Star team.

Gyorko was drafted by the Padres in the second round of the 2010 MLB Draft.
