WVU Assistant Wrestling Coach Qualifies For Olympic Trials

West Virginia assistant wrestling coach Danny Felix is one of the first 65 athletes that have qualified to compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling in Iowa City, Iowa, April 21-22.

Felix, who is entering his fourth season with the Mountaineers, qualified for the trials as a past member of the U.S. World Team in the 121-pound weight class.

The list of past U.S. World and Olympic Team members includes wrestlers who have indicated that they may try out for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team.

Felix worked his way onto the U.S. World team in 2009 and competed at the 2009 World Wrestling Championships in Herning, Denmark.

The 1995 graduate of Arizona State was an All-American at the 118-pound weight class and was a three-time Pac-10 champion.
