According to a report from the New York Times, Missouri is continuing down the path of seeking membership in the SEC. Sources told the Times that the school’s decision to apply for membership in the league is "inevitable and imminent." Also in the story, the source told the Times that the school expects "no problems" with garnering enough votes by the league’s chancellors and presidents to be accepted in as the 14th school.
Missouri’s board of curators are scheduled to meet again later in the week on Thursday and Friday. If Missouri does eventually leave for the SEC, Louisville, West Virginia and BYU have all been mentioned as possible expansion candidates for the Big 12 to get back to 10 or even go to 12 schools.
