Rich Rodriguez Hired At Arizona

Former WVU and Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez is officially the next head coach at Arizona.

Arizona athletic director Greg Byrne made the announcement early Monday evening through twitter and introduced Rodriguez at a press conference Tuesday morning.

Arizona, (3-8) fired head coach Mike Stoops earlier in the year after a 1-5 start.  Rodriguez went 60-26 during his tenure at West Virginia, but finished only 15-22 at Michigan before being fired after the end of last year.

ESPN.com reports that Rodriguez signed a five year, $9.55 million contract with the university paying $8.05 million and Nike and IMG paying the rest.

Rodriguez has spent the past year as a college football analyst with CBS Sports.
