Adrian Earns First Team All-State

Future Mountaineer Nathan Adrian was named to the Class AAA first team all-state team in West Virginia. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged a double-double this season with 19.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.

Adrian also made 32 3-pointers this season and shot over 50 percent from the field. He also led the Morgantown Mohigans to an 18-7 overall record and a birth in the Region 1 Championship game. The WVU commit also won the TRAC Player of the Year Award and was named the captain of the Class 5A all-OVAC first team.

The junior forward committed to WVU back in early September and told MetroNews despite his early commitment, he is still working hard to become the best player he can.

"I’ve lived here since I was seven years old," said Adrian during an interview at Morgantown High School back when he committed. "I’ve been to almost every home basketball game and it’s been my dream for the longest time."

Adrian is one of two verbal commitments the Mountaineers have in the 2013 recruiting class. The other is Atlanta, Georgia native Brandon Watkins.
