Patrick Beilein to coach WV Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — West Virginia Wesleyan College director of athletics Ken Tyler announced today that Patrick Beilein has been named head men’s basketball coach.

Beilein, currently director of men’s basketball operations at Bradley University, will be formally introduced to the campus and community at a press conference on Tuesday, June 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the Rockefeller Center.

Prior to Bradley, Beilein served as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College and as a graduate assistant under his father John Beilein at the University of Michigan.

Beilein played professional basketball in Ireland and as a member of the Houston Rockets’ NBA summer league following a stellar career at West Virginia University, where he scored over 1,000 points and was a member of teams that advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight.  He will officially begin his duties at Wesleyan on June 15.

While playing at West Virginia under his father, Beilein averaged 7.8 points in 128 career games with the Mountaineers.  Overall, he made 242 3-point shots over that span.
