Weekend Starts With Deadly Accidents

Two separate accidents claimed lives in West Virginia to start off the weekend.

In Cabell County, Barboursville Police say a motorcycle driver was killed after running a red light late Friday night on Route 60.  That motorcycle slammed into a vehicle that was turning at Alternate Route 10.  The driver of that car was treated for injuries.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

In Boone County, one person was killed in a wreck on Route 85 in Madison.  Emergency officials say that person’s vehicle was the only one involved in the crash.  It happened at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Part of Interstate 79 in Kanawha County was shut down for a couple of hours early Saturday morning following an accident involving two cars and a tractor trailer.

Emergency officials say several people were injured in that wreck.
