Badge Sales For Greenbrier Classic To Close

Wednesday will be the last day to buy badges to attend the events for The Greenbrier Classic this year.

The PGA Tour Event opens on Monday, July 2nd in Greenbrier County.

"We just tried to matrix the whole thing out and tried to look at what we can handle and how we can handle it in just as good a way as it’s been handled in the past," Greenbrier Resort Owner Jim Justice says.

Even though he is reluctant to cut off sales, Justice says they’ll do so for logistical reasons to keep the total badge numbers at around 42,000.  It’ll be enough, he says, to limit total attendance to about 230,000.

"I’m going to hate it like crazy because there’s going to be a bunch of people who think, ‘Well, dang, I wanted to come and everything and I can’t get a ticket.’  But that’s just the way it is.  We can only handle so many," Justice said on Friday’s MetroNews Talkline.

Those badges are good for all of the golf events, which will include Tiger Woods for the first time, and for the concerts with Toby Keith, Rod Stewart featuring Lionel Richie and Bon Jovi.

Badge sales will end at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.  You can find out more at www.greenbrierclassic.com.
