State Police say a 24 year-old man was killed in a crash along I-79 in Monongalia County Wednesday morning.

The single vehicle accident happened around 6:30 a.m. just south of the West Virginia/Pennsylvania state line. The wreck forced the southbound lanes to be shut down for about 90 minutes while crews worked the scene.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck was killed while a passenger was able to walk away uninjured. Police believe the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

The investigation continues.
