Mineral County Fire Claims Three Lives

Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office say they don’t know yet what caused a fire last Friday morning in Mineral County that killed three people.

The blaze broke out at about 2:30 a.m. in Fort Ashby in a building on Washington Street that housed several apartments.

The fire impacted nine families that are getting help from the Red Cross.

Investigators say an electrical problem may have started the fire but there’s not enough evidence to say for sure.

The names of the victims have not been released.
