One Dead, Several Seriously Injured In Accident

State Police say alcohol may have played a role in a vehicle crash Sunday night in Grant County that claimed the life of a Maysville woman.

Troopers say Joyce Sherman, 53, was killed when her Chevrolet pickup truck crossed the centerline on Patterson Creek Road, near Corridor H, and hit a Ford Windstar.

In the other vehicle was James Hartlzer, 43, and six members of his family including a 36 year old woman, and kids ages two, five, eight, 11 and 14.

All seven were injured and troopers say some of those injures are serious.

State Police say they found a broken bottle of some type of alcohol in Sherman’s vehicle after the crash.
