The airplane that crashed near Morgantown last month did not have any flight malfunctions prior to going down, according to a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board.
The pilot, Richard Lambert, of Columbus, Ohio, died when his Hawker Beechcraft BE90 hit a communications tower near Coopers Rock.
Lambert, who had more than 22,000 hours of flight experience, was flying to Morgantown after dropping off three passengers at Farmington, Pa.
A propeller on the plan hit the tower, causing the airplane to go down, the report says.
The NTSB will likely issue a full report sometime next year.
The plane was owned by Oz Gas Company based in Montana.
