Coal Miner Killed On Job

A coal miner from Mingo County is dead after an accident early Friday morning.

Officials with the West Virginia Office of Miner’s Health, Safety and Training say a move crew employee was killed at Coal River Mining LLC’s Fork Creek #10 Mine in Boone County. 

That miner is being identified as Johnny Mack Bryant II, 35, from Lenore.

Officials say Bryant had worked at the site for more than a year.  The accident happened at about 4 a.m. Friday.
