Man Who Robs A Follansbee Couple Pleads Guilty

A Brooke County man accused of robbing and beating an elderly couple inside their home pleaded guilty in court Wednesday.

Aaron Harley, 21, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery. The crime happened on May 2, 2011.

According to police, Hartley broke into a Follansbee home and demanded money from the husband and wife, who were both in their 80s. He then proceeded to assault both victims with a firearm.

Hartley was seen leaving the scene by the victim’s neighbor.

He was previously indicted on on five counts before the plea deal was made.

A specific sentencing period was not specified in the deal. Hartley is scheduled to be sentenced November 9.
