Woman Facing Murder Charges In Attempted Robbery

A woman accused of being the getaway driver during an attempted robbery of a Wheeling pharmacy turned fatal has been charged with murder.

Melody Fisher pleaded not guilty to all charges against her during her arraignment Wednesday in the Circuity Court of Ohio County.

Investigators said on May 25 Kevin Walnoha showed a gun while trying to rob the Elm Grove Pharmacy, but was shot and killed by a pharmacist.

Police said Fisher and Walnoha acted together in the crime and Fisher later admitted she was with Walnoha before the robbery and essentially was the getaway driver.

A pre-trial hearing is set for Dec. 7 with the trial scheduled for Dec. 17. If found guilty, Fisher could serve a life sentence.

Fisher is at West Virginia Northern Regional Jail pending bond.
