A Mason County woman is dead while her estranged husband in the hospital after what police believe was a murder/attempted suicide.
Investigators say it happened at a home in Pt. Pleasant Sunday afternoon when Richard Franklin got into an argument with 43-year-old Kelli Franklin. That’s when he allegedly shot her and then turned the gun on himself.
The victim was dead when police arrived; Mr. Franklin was alive and is in critical condition at Cabell Huntington Hospital. The shooting is still under investigation.
