Austin bound for Senior Bowl

West Virginia receiver Tavon Austin, who finished eighth in this year’s Heisman voting and was an AP All-American, has agreed to play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 26 in Mobile, Ala., a source confirmed.

Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith is considering an offer to join Austin at the game, which concludes a week of workouts in front of NFL scouts.

No other WVU seniors have been invited, the source said, though the game’s roster won’t be finalized until after the bowls.

Austin’s 110 catches rank No. 2 nationally behind USC sophomore Marqise Lee. His 230 all-purpose yards per game stand No. 2 behind Western Kentucky’s Antonio Andrews.
