Jr. ROTC instructor charged with sex crime

An instructor in the Junior ROTC program at George Washington High School is free on bond after his arrest this week on sexual abuse charges.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Dept. says Martin Dale Kirby was charged Monday with Sexual Abuse by a Parent, Guardian or Custodian.  .

Investigators say a former female student at GW alleges Kirby had sexual contact with her on more than one occasion while she was a student there.

The sheriff’s department says Kirby has admitted to having sex with the girl.
