40 Years of Roe; WVFL to have education event Sunday

West Virginian’s for life are holding a special pro-life educational program Sunday in Bridgeport.

The event is called “40 Years of Roe” and will feature a 90 minute presentation from five experts regarding Roe vs Wade.

“We have five experts and these are people that anybody in the country would love to have come in and talk about, in particular, the negative consequences of 40 years of Roe vs Wade,” said Mary Anne Buchanan with West Virginians for Life.

Roe vs Wade was a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court in 1973 which struck down many state laws restricting abortion.

Buchanan said the visiting experts will include among others the Professor and Vice Chair of the OBEY for the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Charleston Dr. Byron Calhoun and Priscilla Coleman, a well known expert on Post Abortion Syndrome.

According to research done by Coleman, women who have had abortions show an increased risk of having future physical and psychological problems.

Following the presentation, those in attendance will be able to mingle with the experts and ask questions.

The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with the presentation starting at 2:30 p.m. Everything will conclude around 5 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will also be available. It will take place at the Bridgeport Conference Center.

West Virginians for Life, Greer Industries, Pediatric and Teenage Dentistry of Morgantown and the Pregnancy Resource Center of Marion County are sponsoring the event.
