Adrian out 6-8 weeks with broken foot

Morgantown High basketball standout and West Virginia signee Nathan Adrian received disappointing news Monday, learning he’ll be sidelined the next 6-8 weeks with a broken foot. Adrian cracked the second metatarsal during practice last Wednesday.

“People have just been giving me their condolences and telling me good luck with getting healthy,” Adrian said.

Surgery won’t be required, but the broken foot will put Adrian out for the rest of the regular season and possibly the entire postseason. However, Adrian is hopeful the bone will heal in time for the state tournament, should Morgantown advance that far.

“It sucks pretty bad,” Adrian said. “My teammates will step up now and get it done. Hopefully I’ll be back for the state tournament.”

This year’s state tournament is set for March 13-16.
