West Virginia misses out on junior college quarterback Tanner McEvoy, who committed to Wisconsin on Monday. Florida and Oregon also were pursuing the former South Carolina signee.

West Virginia initially had hoped to sign McEvoy as an early enrollee for the spring semester, but he hadn’t met the academic requirements and required another semester at the junior college level.

McEvoy took an official visit to Wisconsin this past weekend.

The last thing you want is a dumb quarterback. If he could not qualify out of high school and even JC why waste the effort?

David, he is not dumb. He was at South Carolina under Spurrier and it didn't work there so he went JC to play immediately.

Stood a better chance at WVU but ohwell good luck to him.

I'm not so sure of that, WVU has 2 guys with a year under their belt who fit the system well. Wisconsin has a backup quarterback that took over halfway through the year because their other quarterback, a below average ACC transfer couldn't get it done. He wasn't going to see the field anyways here, or at Oregon, so best of luck in Madison guy.
