NORTH CAROLINAGeorge Washington High School The skinny: GW standout Ryan Switzer was one of the state’s more highly sought after recruits in some time. The high school running back will make the move to slot receiver with North Carolina. Switzer finished his senior season by winning his second straight Kennedy Award, tallying 2,379 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns, to go along with another 253 receiving yards and four more scores. He also added three defensive touchdowns on the year as well. Switzer is rated as a three-star prospect by both Scout.com and Rivals.com. He also capped off his senior year by catching the game-winning touchdown in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. He picked the Tar Heels over numerous other offers, including West Virginia, Florida State, Penn State, Georgia Tech and Arizona. |

WEST VIRGINIASpring Valley High School The skinny: Spring Valley’s Elijah Wellman will stay instate to play for the Mountaineers. The running back rushed for over 1,600 yards and scored 18 touchdowns during his senior year of high school. He’s expected to play in more of a blocking-back role with the Mountaineers. Wellman was also a standout linebacker in high school as well, earning the state’s 2012 Huff Award as the top defensive player, recording 124 tackles during his senior year. Wellman is rated as a three-star prospect by Scout.com and a two-star by Rivals.com. Some of his other offers included Marshall, Bowling Green, Charlotte and Ohio. |

OHIOMartinsburg High School The skinny: Brown played a key role in Martinsburg winning three straight Class AAA football championships, capped off with a 38-14 win over Cabell Midland this past season. Brown was one of two receivers named 1st team all state in 2012. He also capped off his senior year by playing in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. He’s rated as a two-star prospect by Scout.com |

UNC CHARLOTTEGeorge Washington High School The skinny: GW’s Dustin Crouser is headed to North Carolina to play for UNC Charlotte. The linebacker/fullback is expected to play on the defensive side of the ball at the next level. Crouser suffered a torn ACL during his senior season with GW, ending his year at the end of October. He finished his shortened season with 57 and a half tackles, including 14 for a loss. Overall, he put together 231 and a half tackles for his career with the Patriots.
