Coach: ‘Wow’ moments to come from Gibson

Shelton Gibson out of Cleveland Heights High School in Ohio was one of West Virginia’s higher profile signees in its 2013 recruiting class. The four-star wide receiver plenty of other impressive offers besides West Virginia, including Ohio State and Tennessee.

“At the end of the day, he saw a great coaching staff, he saw a chance to maybe get on the field a little bit sooner and he loves the system that West Virginia runs,” said Gibson’s high school head coach Jeff Rotsky. “I think it just felt right to him. We talked often about what he liked most and where he felt he was best off, and the plus-points kept coming back to West Virginia. I think it’s a great decision for him.”

Rotsky was a guest on Thursday’s MetroNews Statewide Sportsline, praising Gibson’s pure athletic ability in the open field.

“I will tell you this, he will give you a number of ‘wow’ moments and some you’re going to shake your head at,” Rotsky said.
