Kilicli finds ways to stay motivated

MANHATTAN, Kan. — Even with the season presumably in the shredder, WVU senior Deniz Kilicli reminds everyone there’s always a reason to compete the next day.

And if you’re wondering, Bob Huggins continues posting the RPI updates for players to view.

“We’ve got to get some quality wins, because I still think the best win we have is over Eastern Kentucky,” Kilicli said. “If we go four out of five or five out of five, every time we win a game (the RPI’s) going to go about 10 up. So if we’re in the 80s right now, it would go 70s, 60s, 50 if we win. So this stretch is very important for us.”

According to the last official RPI release by the NCAA, West Virginia was 99th, though that came out a few hours before Monday’s loss at Kansas State. The daily-revised RPI standings at StatSheet.com show the Mountaineers at 92nd.
