A Core woman died after a two-vehicle accident on the Mason Dixon Highway Monday morning, police said.

The 38-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her name was not released because police were still notifying the family.

Police say the accident happened at about 7 a.m. two miles east of Blacksville.

The victim was driving a 1999 Buick Century in the westbound lanes when she crossed the center line and hit a 2008 Toyota Highlander head on.  The driver of the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither vehicle had any passengers.

The accident remains under investigation.
