Holgorsen adds Seider as RBs coach

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former West Virginia quarterback and graduate assistant JaJuan Seider is rejoining the Mountaineers as running backs coach, according to a tweet from WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen on Friday night.

Seider interviewed Thursday and was hired Friday, only a week after former running backs coach Robert Gillespie left for Tennessee.

Holgorsen on Tuesday pledged to have Gillespie’s replacement hired quickly, and that came to fruition less than 48 hours before the Mountaineers open spring practice. Like Gillespie, Seider is expected to recruit Florida, a territory he concentrated on for Marshall.

Seider coached the past three seasons at Marshall – serving as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator — after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at WVU.

He played three seasons at West Virginia from 1996-1998 before transferring to Florida A&M, where he threw for 2,512 yards and 27 touchdowns as a senior. Seider was selected in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers.
