Two children die in Clarksburg crash

Investigators believe a mechanical failure may have caused a weekend water truck crash in Clarksburg that killed two children.

Police say a 7-year-old and an 8-year-old were killed Saturday night when the truck rolled over onto a sedan at the intersection of West Pike Street and U.S. Route 50.

The driver of the truck told police his brakes failed as he came down the exit ramp causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

The mother, who was driving the car, is being treated at United Hospital Center.
