Cabell Midland’s Gaydosz signs with Coastal Carolina

The recruiting process finally came to an end for Cabell Midland standout running back David Gaydosz, who signed his letter of intent to play at Coastal Carolina for next season.

“I want to thank my teammates and my coaching staff,” Gaydosz said at the signing. “They were the key to my success this year, especially the front five. I wouldn’t have had any success without them.”

This past season, Gaydosz ran for 2,334 yards and 29 touchdowns as the Knights made it to the Class AAA state championship game, where they fell to Martinsburg. Gaydosz was named first-team all-state.

His signing comes nearly two months after the initial national signing day in early February.

Cabell Midland’s David Gaydosz ran for 2,334 yards and 29 touchdowns during his senior season.

“It’s very gratifying to sign this letter of intent to play at Coastal Carolina next year,” he said. “It’s been a long journey and I’ve worked very hard for this, but I’m not finished yet.”

Coastal Carolina is a Division I FCS program located in Conway, S.C. The Chanticleers play out of the Big South Conference, finishing last season with an 8-5 overall record.

Seven in-state players signed scholarship papers at Division I schools in February:  George Washington’s Ryan Switzer (North Carolina), Jordan Clay (Air Force) and Dustin Crouser (UNC Charlotte), Spring Valley’s Elijah Wellman (West Virginia), Martinsburg’s Cedric Brown (Ohio) and Eugene German (UNC Charlotte), and Morgantown’s Blaine Stewart (James Madison).
