Panhandle police waiting on body i-d.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Dept. is still waiting on a positive identification of a body found in the Ohio River earlier this week.

The man’s body, which is now at the state Medical Examiner’s Office, was spotted in the water near Wellsville Tuesday.

The sheriff’s dept. originally said it believed it knew who the man was but wouldn’t release the name until a positive identification came back from the medical examiner’s office.
