Nate Tanner has officially been named as the new head football coach at Summers County High. Tanner takes over for Josh Houchins who stepped down from the position earlier this spring.
Summers County is coming off of a 7-4 campaign in 2012 that included a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 1995. The Bobcats fell in the opening round to Frankfort, 38-7. Houchins, who also serves as principal of the school, resigned to focus more time on his administrative duties.
Tanner, meanwhile, has been a member of the coaching staff under Houchins.
