HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Jaylen Brantley has signed a national letter of intent to join the Marshall basketball team, becoming a key late recruit for coach Tom Herrion.
Brantley, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Fitchburg, Mass., played last season at Notre Dame Prep, which reached the semifinals of the National Prep Championships. He averaged 16 points and five assists, shooting 44 percent from 3-point range and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
Rivals ranked him a three-star prospect, who held offers from Florida, Virginia, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Richmond and Rhode Island.
“Jaylen is a terrific addition to our basketball program,” Herrion said. “He has played in very successful programs in high school and AAU.”
Brantley became Marshall’s fourth signee of this class, joining junior-college recruits Justin Edmonds, Cheikh Sane and Shawn Smith.
