Ohio man arrested in connection with Cabell County house fire

An Ohio man has been arrested in connection with a March arson fire in Cabell County.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office arrested Donovan Smith, 20, of South Point, Ohio Thursday for allegedly setting a mobile home on fire on Cyrus Creek Road.

The fire took place in the early morning hours of March 15. Firefighters said there was a small amount of ammunition in the trailer that went off during the fire.

No injuries were reported in the blaze.

Smith is charged with felony arson, two counts of burning insured property, four counts of conspiracy to commit arson, nighttime burglary and burning of grasslands.

He was given a $225,000 cash-only bond.

Police said more arrests are expected to be made.
