A 23 year old Raleigh County man is facing murder charges after authorities say he shot and killed his stepfather and tried to kill his mother.
Raleigh County Sheriff deputies arrested Donald Dunn Jr. Saturday morning.
Deputies said Dunn shot and killed his stepfather, Mark Mcdermott, 47, and then tried to shoot his mother at their home in Stanaford.
The mother was transported to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.
Dunn has also been charged with attempted first degree murder.
The sheriff’s department is conducting an investigation.
