Defensive tackle commits to Herd

HUNTINGTON, W.Va.– Marshall’s second verbal commitment for 2014 is a 300 pounder who will be expected to hold his own along the defensive line. Defensive tackle Josh Rimes, from LaBelle, Fla., committed to Marshall Monday afternoon.

Rimes is listed at 6-foot-1 and 308 pounds and is rated as a 2-start prospect by Rivals.com. Rimes also reportedly received offers from UCF and FIU but was swayed to commit to Marshall following an official visit to Huntington last month.  He is scheduled to attend camp at the University of Alabama this summer.

Not only has Rimes excelled at football.  The powerful defensive lineman also won the heavy weight division in the FHSAA 1A Powerlifting championship this year becoming the third state champ at LaBelle High School.
