RIPLEY, W. Va.– The search for a man wanted for multiple robberies ends in Jackson County.
Deputies caught up with and arrested Chad Rennicker Monday in Ripley.
Rennicker was wanted in Belmont County Court in Ohio for six robberies, but he never showed up. In addition, the Meigs County Sheriff’s Department said he robbed at gunpoint the Farmers Bank Branch in Tuppers Plains last week.
After the most recent robbery, deputies said Rennicker and his girlfriend, Michaela Fritz, took off in her father’s car, which they had previously stolen.
The pair were seen in Charleston spending money and caught on camera at several businesses in Ripley.
Sheriff’s deputies in Jackson, Meigs and Kanawha counties, along with SWAT teams and several city police departments worked together to track down the pair.
The departments used Facebook to post pictures, descriptions and license plate numbers in hopes of tracking them down or generating leads.
One lead led Jackson County deputies to pull over a car. The occupants then took law enforcement to Wedgewood Apartments where the pair were believed to be hiding.
After a failed attempt to escape through the attic at the apartment, Rennicker was taken into custody along with his girlfriend.
Rennicker was charged with robbery. Fritz was charged with aiding and abetting.
