State Auditor still undecided about possible run for U.S. Congress

CHARLESTON, W. Va.– West Virginia’s Auditor is still unsure at this juncture whether he will run for Congress in 2014.

“I’m still meeting with people,” said state Auditor Glen Gainer,”I can say I’m not leaning one way or the other at this point.”

Gainer, who is in his 21st year as state Auditor, has expressed interest in running for the Democrat nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives in the First Congressional District.

Gainer said he is taking his time because this is a very big decision to make.

“It’s something that affects every aspect of your life, especially your family,” he said.”It’s a very difficult decision for me to come to.”

In addition, the Wood County resident said he has a lot of things he is currently working on in West Virginia.

Regardless, Gainers expects to make his decision within the next couple weeks so he can get it behind him.
