Federal prosecutors say Marshall County man threatened Obama

ELKINS, W.Va. — A federal grand jury has indicted a Marshall County man on charges he allegedly threatened President Barack Obama.

U.S. Attorney Bill Ihlenfeld said Ryan Kirker, 20, of McMechen, mailed a letter to Obama in April “threatening to take the life or inflict body harm.”

Kirker faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 if convicted.

Kirker was indicted this week by a federal grand jury in Elkins.
