It took just one visit to Marshall University for tight end Ryan Yuracheck to make up his mind he wanted to play for the Thundering Herd.

Yurachek, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect from Myrtle Beach, S.C., verbally committed to Marshall on Tuesday, announcing his plans on Twitter.  Yurachek is the third verbal The Herd has received in the last five days.

Yurachek is a three sport standout at Carolina Forest High School starring on the basketball team and playing third base and designated hitter for the baseball team.

On the football field last season, Yurachek caught 58 passes for 762 yards and eight touchdowns.  Clemson, South Carolina and East Carolina were among the other schools that had shown interest in Yurachek.

Yurachek is the sixth verbal commit in the Class of 2014.  He joins Reese Wooten Josh Rimes, Hyleck Foster, Cole Garvin and Alex Cason.

Stars don't mean everything, you are correct. Now that MU has 8 commits and they now have 7 stars total, this according to scout. You must agree that "Doc" has his work cut out for him. When your 2014 class has an avg of less than .87 stars something is not going well in herd land. Could not happen to a better team.

WVU fan here, but stars don't mean everything. Pat White, Steve Slaton, and Owen Schmitt weren't that highly recruited either, but they formed a pretty good foundation for the team.

MU 6 recruits total of 9 stars avg 1.5 stars per recruit. Way to kick butt.
