Tight end joins 2014 recruiting class

It took just one visit to Marshall University for tight end Ryan Yuracheck to make up his mind he wanted to play for the Thundering Herd.

Yurachek, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect from Myrtle Beach, S.C., verbally committed to Marshall on Tuesday, announcing his plans on Twitter.  Yurachek is the third verbal The Herd has received in the last five days.

Yurachek is a three sport standout at Carolina Forest High School starring on the basketball team and playing third base and designated hitter for the baseball team.

On the football field last season, Yurachek caught 58 passes for 762 yards and eight touchdowns.  Clemson, South Carolina and East Carolina were among the other schools that had shown interest in Yurachek.

Yurachek is the sixth verbal commit in the Class of 2014.  He joins Reese Wooten Josh Rimes, Hyleck Foster, Cole Garvin and Alex Cason.
