Herd adds 2 more commitments

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall picked up two commitments for the 2014 recruiting class, when athlete Keion Davis and defensive tackle Ja’ree Tolbert notified Herd coaches of their decisions on Monday.

Davis rushed 197 times as the primary ballcarrier for Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Ga. last year. He collected 1,068 yards and 12 scores on the ground in his junior campaign. He also caught five passes for 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The 6-foot, 185-pound recruit is rated as a 2-star prospect by Rivals.com and is listed as the 89th best prospect in Georgia by 247Sports.com.

Davis’ other offers included Mississippi State, Georgia State and South Alabama.

Marshall also received word from Tolbert, a 6-2, 270-pounder who recorded 40 tackles and nine sacks during his junior year at Miami Springs (Fla.) High School.

Tolbert had received interest from Appalachian State, Connecticut and Pittsburgh.
