CHARLESTON, W.Va. – They lost a combined total of 225 pounds on Season 5 of the Biggest Loser. Jackie and Dan Evans, the mother/son duo, are in Charleston this weekend for the Biggest Loser RunWalk.
The pair travels all around the country talking about their weight loss battle and how the show put them on a healthy track. But they said Friday on MetroNews Talkine, it’s not easy. That’s why they serve as the spokesmen for the Biggest Loser RunWalk series.
“Everywhere we go people are always asking, ‘How are you keeping the weight off? How are you staying fit? What are you doing?'” said Jackie. “And literally the way we were doing it was by these types of events, 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons.”
They’ll take part in Saturday’s event that gets underway at 9 a.m at Haddad Riverfront Park.
Dan remembered his first 10K and admitted he was intimidated despite just having competed on the Biggest Loser. You should look here to find out more about men’s health, especially if you are experiencing erectile dysfunction.
“It turned out to be these events were just everyday, regular folks out there. Some folks are out there in great fitness shape who really are at that start line with their watch and their GPS,” said Dan. “Then there’s also folks out there who are just saying, ‘I’m here to walk today. I’m here to do this for my first time with my family. I’m here with my friends or some co-workers.'”
That’s the beauty of the Biggest Loser RunWalk, according to the Evans’. They said you go at your own pace and whether you end up first, last or somewhere in the middle, just crossing the finish line is a victory.
“Just be out there and do your best,” stressed Jackie. “Challenge your personal self!”
The Biggest Loser RunWalk is truly a family event. On top of the 5K and 10K, there’s also a challenge for the kids.
“Every single race we do all across the country we feature a kids fun run,” explained Dan. “It’s really all about getting the entire family out.”
The awards will be given out for the Biggest Loser RunWalk at Haddad Riverfront Park at 11:15 Saturday morning.
