One dead in Kanawha County crash

DUNBAR, W.Va. — A man died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a head-on collision in Dunbar Tuesday night.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department identified the man as Charles Slater, 33, of Scott Depot. 

Deputies said he was driving a Range Rover SUV that collided with a Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.

The accident took place around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Washington Street West near the Department of Health and Human Resources building.

Two other people were taken to the hospital in the Dunbar accident, but their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
