Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department said speed may have been a factor in the accident, near Hedgesville, that claimed the lives of two men and a 14 year old girl.

Investigators have identified the two men who died as Joseph Sullivan from Hedgesville and William Kendall, Jr. from Pennsylvania.  The girl was from Washington County, Md.

Three others, including two young children, were injured.

Officials say the woman who survived the wreck was driving at the time.  She was still being treated at a Maryland hospital Monday, while one of the kids was at a Washington, D.C. hospital.

Investigators said all six people were in a pickup truck that slammed into a tree at 5:30 p.m. Friday on Conservation Drive.
