State Police: Twins abandoned in Mingo County

WELCH, W.Va. — Twin newborn baby boys are now in the custody of Child Protective Services after reportedly being dropped off anonymously at a home in Mingo County last month.

State Police said the owner of the Verner home where the boys were left in a basket took the babies to Welch Community Hospital in McDowell County for treatment as instructed in a note that was also left.

The babies were first discovered on June 26.
