Deadly wrecks in Braxton, Hampshire counties

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Two people died in separate traffic accidents Sunday in West Virginia.

Sheriff’s deputies in Braxton County said a woman lost control of her car on Route 4 Gassaway. She slammed into a fence and went through the windshield.

Her name has not been released.

A teenager died in a traffic accident late Sunday night near Hanging Rock in Hampshire County.

State Police said Rachel Robinson, 19, of Augusta, was a passenger in a vehicle that collided with another vehicle on state Route 29 at just before 11 p.m. Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle Robinson was in, Adam Fox, 18, of Springfield, and a second passenger, Brittany Keesling, 18, of Augusta, are hospitalized in Winchester, Virginia.

State Police are continuing their investigation.
