Seastrunk backs up Heisman forecast

DALLAS, Texas — Before last December’s Holiday Bowl, Baylor running back Lache Seastrunk projected himself as a Heisman Trophy contender in 2013. Eight months later, he doesn’t regret that forecast, and Baylor coach Art Briles has only encouraged his featured running back to dream big.

“It means that he trusts me and believes in me,” said Seastrunk. “He’s like me—why not? I have the greatest line in the world, so why not?”

Even though Seastrunk was the Big 12 media’s preseason pick for offensive player of the year, he propped the notion that Baylor is perceived as a pass-first offense.

“That’s fine—I don’t want all the pub no way,” he said. “Give (quarterback) Bryce Petty the pub. I’ll creep up around 2,500 yards before you know it.”
