Martinsburg man arrested for attempting to have sex with juvenile female

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Martinsburg man is behind bars after he was caught trying to have a sexual relationship with a juvenile female.

The West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Wade Eugene Decker, 25, Tuesday near the Lambert Park Pool in Martinsburg.

The arrest was made as Decker was on his way to meet an 11-year-old female for sex.

Decker was charged on multiple felony counts, including the solicitation of a minor using a computer, the display of obscene matter to a minor, use of obscene matter to seduce a minor and attempted use of a minor to produce obscene matter.

The charges stem from a two-week investigation that involved an ongoing dialogue between Decker and the juvenile victim and an undercover officer.

During that time, Decker not only sent sexually explicit photos to the juvenile victim but also expressed repeated desires to engage in sexual intercourse with the juvenile victim. He also attempted to obtain nude photographs from the juvenile victim.

Decker is currently in jail being held on a $175,000 bond.
