Thomas Pennington

HILLSBORO, W.Va. — Two inmates at a Pocahontas County correctional facility have escaped.

The West Virginia State Police said Thomas Pennington and Larry Morehead escaped from the Denmar Correctional Facility around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Pennington was serving a sentence for first-degree murder and third-degree arson. Morehead was serving time for second-degree sexual assault.

Pennington is from Kanawha County. Morehead is from Nicholas County.

    If Pennington was serving a term for first degree murder, why was he not in Mt. Olive where the security is much tighter than the Denmar facility?
    If a person will commit murder once, they would not hesitate to murder again if they were surprised or cornered. Hopefully they will be apprehended soon and no one is harmed.

      too bad there was no reward. Won't say why 'exactly', for fear of retribution on my family.
