Huntington man sentenced for 2011 death of 4-month-old

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A Cabell County man is heading prison for the 2011 death of a 4-month-old girl.

Michael Fannin, of Huntington, was found guilty Friday by a jury in Cabell County Circuit Court of child abuse causing death. Immediately following the verdict, Circuit Judge Paul Ferrell sentenced Fannin to 40 years in prison.

Fannin was charged in the death of Emma Beatty. The infant died May 2, 2011, three days after an incident occurred at Fannin’s residence in Marcum Terrace.

Fannin was baby-sitting the girl at the time she suffered the fatal injuries.
