Mingo murder lands teenager in jail

WHARNCLIFFE, W.Va. — A Mingo County man is dead and a teenager charged in his murder.

State Troopers said Chris Wolford was stabbed to death in his own home at Wharncliffe at around 5 p.m. Thursday. Wolford and 19-year-old James Hinkle had gotten into an argument when Hinkle allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Wolford in the stomach.

Wolford was taken to Logan Regional Medical Center but did not survive.

Hinkle was scheduled for arraignment Friday morning on first-degree murder charges.
